Once completed by Ann, these small glass trays will contain the glass elements of earth, air, water, and fire. These element tiles will be displayed at the DragonFire Gallery Nov. 6-8 as part of the Cannon Beach Stormy Weather community celebration
Linley Schetky and Ann Cavanaugh, two artists who have been recognized separately for their talents in metal and glass, respectively, have collaborated on the creation of a sculpture that combines their unique skills and visions into a single work of art. Linley and Ann, who are both represented by DragonFire Gallery in Canon Beach were presented with the opportunity to collaborate on a memorial sculpture piece by gallery owner Eeva Lantela. The sculpture would honor Eeva's long time partner, Mari Rockett, and would be named “Mari's Fire - metal and glass.”
In addition, Linley and Ann have other collaborative projects are in the works, including a garden bench, which is a gift from the staff of Longview School district to honor Ann's retirement from education, and a bench for Eeva's memorial garden.
